About Dr. I. Murphy Lewis:

*Over the course of the last forty years, Dr. Lewis has explored and trained in many modalities from bodywork to psychology to coaching writers. This personal exploration sprang forth at the age of 13, when she began to write obsessively in private journals, and continues to do so to this day.
In 1997, Libraries Unlimited launched her young adult book, Why Ostriches Don't Fly: And Other Tales from the African Bush about the San Bushmen, who kindly shared their stories, music and trance dance during extensive travels throughout the Kalahari Desert in South Africa, Namibia and Botswana. This jaunt into the publishing world, inspired Murphy to republish Lysbeth Boyd Borie's Poems for Peter from the original copperplates, publish Gail Segal's In Gravity's Pull, and later, Gay Walley's The Erotic Fire of the Unattainable: Aphorism on Love, Art and the Vicissitudes of Life. From 1998 to 2004, through a series of ceremonies, the Maasai Warriors of Kenya, initiated Murphy into a dream shaman. Shifting her from a career in Fashion to Pacifica Graduate Institute where she completed a Masters (2005) and a PhD (2007) in Mythology with an emphasis in Depth Psychology and Culture. Since 1997, Murphy has been working with the editor and writing coach Gay Walley, as well, she has trained with Suzanne Kingsbury, receiving her certificate as a Gateless Teacher in 2017.
In 2021, IML Publications published Jacqueline Gay Walley's 6 novel Collection: Venus as She Ages.
Her own memoir Across the Divide to the Divine: An African Initiation will be forthcoming 2024.
